Costco comes to ONE DAYTONA

One Daytona recently announced plans to welcome Costco Wholesale as its newest tenant. The membership warehouse, which will include a separate fuel amenity, will occupy approximately 150,000 square feet of the northwest section of the property adjacent to the CMX Daytona Luxury Theatre.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Costco, a top global retailer to the growing One Daytona campus,” said Lesa France Kennedy, executive vice chairperson of NASCAR. “We are proud to be a part of the positive cultural and economic development for the Daytona Beach community.”

When construction is complete on the new Costco Wholesale location, which is currently slated to be open by 2024, it will bring one of the top retailers in the world to Volusia County.

“We are excited to announce that Costco is joining us as the newest tenant at One Daytona,“ said Roxanne Ribakoff, president of One Daytona. “Costco is a top international retailer that will significantly round out the retail mix, and because we currently do not have a concept like this on site, it will greatly enhance the everyday experience for those who live, visit and play at One Daytona.”

Founded in 1983, Costco Wholesale employs more than 292,000 people worldwide, including nearly 186,000 in the United States. When the One Daytona location opens, approximately 250 additional jobs will be created in the Daytona Beach community. Costco also offers some of the highest wages and best benefits in the industry, including medical, dental, life insurance, an employee stock purchase program, 401(k) and a college student retention program.

As they do in every community in which they have a presence, Costco will also be committed to making a positive impact in Daytona Beach through community involvement and giving back. One percent of all pretax profit will be designated annually for local charitable organizations — a number that totaled $48 million across all locations in 2020. Other community involvement examples include:

  • Volunteer Reading Program: Costco employees volunteer to help students first through fourth grades improve reading skills. There are currently more than 460 programs across the United States and Canada, with more than 2,500 volunteers working one-on-one with students.
  • Feeding America: Donation of food and cash grants. For example, in 2019, Costco contributed $3.5 million in cash grants and 34,390 tons of food to local organizations.
  • Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Campaign: In 2021, Costco members and employees helped to raise more than $39 million for 114 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the United States and Canada.

Costco Wholesale will break ground on the One Daytona location in 2023. More details on the progress of this project will be released as they become available.
